High Resolution Video Windowing Device - EZwindowHR™
The EZwindowHR™ provides video windowing capability for dual link DVI display devices.
EZwindowHR™ accepts (1) dual link DVI input, along with up to (5) standard video inputs (Up to WUXGA), and combines the inputs into one dual link video output. This device enables dual link DVI monitors and projectors (eg 2560 x 1600) to be used in multi-window applications.
Special attention has been given to minimize latency, while achieving broad area-of-interest control on inputs and outputs. In addition, EZwindowHR™ supports video overlays for specialty simulation applications.
EZwindowHR™ is used in a variety of dual link DVI applications, including:
· Combining multiple display images into one instructor operator station (IOS) monitor feed in training and simulation applications · Overlaying HUD video on a WQXGA projector-generated out-the-window scene · Combining multiple desktop images in educational applications · Any application that combines multiple video sources in real-time, with minimal latency and minimal video artifacts.
Standard video inputs: Each standard video input channel can accept video in one of many formats, including: DVI single link, analog RGB, RS-343, RS-170, NTSC, PAL, STANAG. Each input is sized to a programmable window in either a foreground layer or a background layer.
Dual Link DVI video input: The dual link video input can accept DVI single link, DVI dual link, and analog RGB. If the input is dual link DVI, output timing is slaved to this input.
A typical application is shown below:
o (4) standard video inputs used to window SVGA video o #5 standard video input not used o Dual Link DVI (HR) input used for foreground symbology o Foreground symbology overlaid on background via RGB keying
Note: For windowing applications that require complex video combining, such as RGB, luma, or chroma keying, inputs to be processed for keying are mapped to the foreground channel, and other video is mapped to the background channel, as shown below:
As with all Westar video solutions, you have flexible area-of-interest control. For example, you can pick out a specific area-of-interest in your standard video input, and map that area to any window size within an output foreground or background layer.
Note: The Dual Link DVI video input cannot be re-sized or re-timed. If this input is used, the output timing will be slaved to this input. If this input is not used, the EZwindowHR can be programmed to your desired output resolution.
EZwindowHR™ is available in a 1U rack mount unit with 1 to 5 standard input channels, and 1 dual link DVI input channel.
Our EZwindowHR™ configuration software allows you to logically set up the unit for your unique application.
